Artwork Interpretation

Flying Day presents a bold, high-energy interpretation of a mythical bird in motion. The figure recalls elements of traditional Chinese visual language — echoing the symbolic presence of the phoenix or rooster — yet it is reimagined through an expressive contemporary lens.

The composition is divided across three panels, creating a continuous horizontal movement. The segmented structure intensifies the sense of motion, as if the bird is stretching beyond its physical boundaries. The exaggerated plumage, elongated beak, and dynamic posture transform the creature from a natural subject into a symbolic force.

Color plays a central role. Saturated reds, electric blues, neon yellows, and layered whites collide in sweeping gestures and splattered accents. The white strokes surrounding the bird resemble gusts of wind or bursts of energy, reinforcing the idea of takeoff and acceleration.

Rather than depicting simple flight, the painting captures a state of momentum — a moment of breakthrough. It reflects a youthful perspective: bold, restless, unwilling to remain still.

With its extended horizontal format and strong visual impact, this large-scale work commands presence. At 140 cm in framed width, it functions as a powerful focal point in a living room, dining space, or contemporary interior. It is not a quiet decorative piece — it is a statement.
