Artwork Description:
Fallen Dragon presents a highly expressive interpretation of the traditional Chinese dragon through loose ink brushwork and exaggerated visual distortion. Painted in ink and color on paper, the work combines elements of classical Chinese painting with a more contemporary, instinctive approach to form.

The dragon’s elongated body twists across the surface with uneven rhythm and sharp movement, while the oversized eye and exposed teeth create a sense of tension, curiosity, and unpredictability. Rather than pursuing realism or decorative symbolism, the artist focuses on emotional force and raw visual energy.

The restrained palette of grey ink tones, muted reds, and bold black outlines allows the brush texture and structural movement to become the center of the composition. The work carries traces of traditional literati painting, yet its visual language feels closer to contemporary expression and experimental ink practice.
