Overview

This work reflects He Jun’s response to a real-world event —
the moment during a U.S. presidential campaign when Donald Trump was shot, with a bullet grazing his ear.

Rather than reconstructing a specific time or location, the artist transforms the incident into a broader visual and psychological reflection. The composition avoids documentary detail, focusing instead on the collective shock, tension, and emotional rupture triggered by the event.

Through symbolic structure, surging ink, and expansive negative space, He Jun translates an act of political violence into a meditation on fear, power, and public emotion. Figures are reduced to gesture and movement, while the fluidity of ink conveys both turmoil and a moment of awakening.
