Artwork Description

Created on traditional Xuan paper, this work employs acrylic paint rather than ink, translating the landscape of the Tibetan plateau into a contemporary visual language. The expansive sky, gently sloping horizon, and the steady movement of the yak herd together form a composition that feels calm, spacious, and quietly powerful.

Although the scene reflects an autumnal setting, the focus of the work is not tied to a specific season. Instead, it captures a state of movement, transition, and rhythm of life. The golden grassland, gradual tonal shifts in the sky, and the measured distance between the human figure and the animals convey a sense of balance unfolding over time.

For this reason, the work is included in MagicBear Art’s Spring Selection. Here, “spring” is understood not as a literal season, but as a metaphor for renewal, departure, and continuity—a moment of moving forward after reflection and accumulation.

By introducing the texture and layering of acrylic paint onto Xuan paper, the work preserves the Eastern understanding of space and restraint while embracing a more open and contemporary pictorial structure. It is a piece suited for long-term viewing and thoughtful collection.
