Description：

Inspired by Yicai Liuxia Screen by Qing dynasty painter Jiang Tingxi, this Nanjing Yunjin silk brocade artwork presents a refined composition of plum blossoms and camellias, symbolizing resilience, elegance, and quiet beauty.

The title Winter Serenity Camellia reflects the meaning of “Dongning” — the peace and harmony of winter, as well as the hope of a new beginning. In the composition, plum blossoms and camellias bloom gracefully against the season, expressing strength, purity, and enduring vitality.

A poetic inscription appears within the artwork:

“Only the camellia endures the coldest days; among green leaves, red blossoms bloom once more.”

The verse is inspired by Lu You’s Song dynasty poem on camellias, celebrating life’s ability to withstand frost and hardship while continuing to blossom with dignity.

Rather than reproducing the original painting through print, this piece transforms classical Chinese floral imagery into a woven textile artwork using traditional Nanjing Yunjin techniques. Silk threads and layered colors create a delicate surface, while the elongated vertical format makes it especially suitable for entryways, studies, corridors, and refined living spaces.
